Electric Vehicle Training

This electric vehicle training course will review the safety implications when working in environments where electric vehicles, powertrain systems, or battery systems are being developed, constructed, or maintained.  

This electric vehicle training course will introduce the preferred principles and working practices for work on High Voltage powertrain systems that are made dead and isolated from all forms of electrical supply. Learners will be able to receive safety documentation and confirm the system is electrically dead at the point of work. 

This electric vehicle training course will introduce the preferred principles and working practices of safe electrical isolation for work on High Voltage vehicle systems. Learners will be able to risk assess, issue safety documentation, and supervise Competent Persons working on High Voltage systems 

This electric vehicle training course will introduce the preferred principles and working practices for exploratory and live working activities on High Voltage powertrain systems. Learners will be able to risk assess systems, select appropriate control measures including PPE, plan SSoW, and issue safety documentation to enable high-risk work activities to be completed safely. 

 This electric vehicle training course will introduce the preferred principles and working practices for live working activities on battery system modules during assembly. Learners will be able to follow risk assessment, implement appropriate control measures including PPE, follow SSoW and receive safety documentation to enable high-risk work activities to be completed safely.

This electric vehicle training course will introduce the preferred principles and working practices for live working activities on High Voltage battery systems. Learners will be able to risk assess systems, select appropriate control measures including PPE, plan SSoW and issue safety documentation to enable high-risk work activities to be completed safely.

A combined electric vehicle training programme for individuals who will work across a wide selection of EV and Battery Systems.  Learners will be able to risk assess systems, select appropriate control measures including PPE, plan SSoW, and issue safety documentation to enable high-risk work activities to be completed safely.

This electric vehicle training course will introduce the preferred principles and working practices for working on prototype formula student powertrains and vehicle platforms. Students will be given the opportunity to learn the theoretical principles of working with these systems safely and practical exercises on High Voltage Systems. 

As a requirement of the FIA Formula E Sporting Regulations competitors are required to undertake electric vehicle training aligned as equivalent to DGUV 8686. ASM offers a bespoke HV training solution that has been adopted by a number of leading teams to meet the requirements of the FIA and enhance team safety. 

A training programme centred around the hazards and risks of battery 'tear-down' activities in preparation for cell recycling. This course will provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to complete live working activities during the dissemble process and for cells to be safely extracted from battery modules. 

These training programmes are designed to equip learners with the skills to safely work in testing and validation environments with prototype components. The course covers the aspects of making equipment safe to work on during the test cycle and when to apply live working practices for the objecting of taking measurements.
